Thank you to our sponsors!

The Bulungula Incubator is fortunate to have the support of many individuals, organisations, foundations, corporates and others who give by way of funding, time, material donations and information.

As a result of this support, we have grown from a staff of 2 in the beginning of 2009, to a staff of 22 in March 2010! We have a range of successful, dynamic projects that currently impact hundreds of lives and that have the potential to be scaled further.

It is not possible to mention everyone by name, but I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few key funders who have supported us over the past year –

Firstly, a BIG thank you to Deutsche Bank – for their generosity in providing core funding. This funding enables us to launch new projects, to sustain existing projects and to ensure that sound monitoring and evaluations systems are in place to measure impact.

Our sustainable livelihoods projects (including a very successful Essential Oils initiative) are funded primarily by the Old Mutual Foundation. OMF have also funded several other smaller projects in the village (including water tanks, toilets and a community food garden) and have provided incredible support to us since 2007.

Primary sponsors of the Jujurha Early Learning Centre and library include:  the Nussbaum Foundation, Raith Foundation, Ford Alumni Association, Truworths, Solon Foundation, DG Murray Trust, Niehoffs Kaffeerösterei, JDI groups, Transnet, the Inglis Family, the Glenday Family, Family Klement, Leta Best and Friends, the Rotary Club of Whistler, Cedar House School, Gulia Coletti and Friends, Tiffy Barker and Friends, Herschel Girls School, Cape Costume Hire, Adidas, Bohle Conference and Language Services, Telecom Techniques Solar…amongst others.

The Bulungula Boreholes have been sponsored by the Nedbank Foundation, and will soon provide a much-needed reliable, clean water source for the Nqileni community! Many thanks also to the Tapini Project for their assistance with the Spring Water Protection Programme and to Hampstead Quaker Members for their contribution to addressing the water crisis.

Many, many individuals (mostly guests from the Bulungula Lodge) have supported the rehabilitation of the No-ofisi Primary school. In addition, donations towards the rebuilding of the school have been received from the Percy Fox Foundation, Global Spokes, SANZAF, Metropolitan, Shayne Brondel, Diet’n family, BAZ Bus,  and Sint-Bernarduscollege.

Our food gardens and nutrition programmes have been sponsored by Breadline Africa, Daddy Longlegs, and the Ford Alumni Association – helping us to feed up to 250 children per day.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed in cash or kind to the Bulungula Incubator. We are extremely grateful that you have chosen to support us!
