After 3 years of hard work by the Bulungula Incubator, Section 27, the community, and government, the community of the Xhora Mouth Administrative Area finally got an ambulance service. In the city one often hears stories about how the ambulance arrived hours late. Imagine it never coming. That was the situation that our community had always suffered under. The Bulungula Incubator and the local community combined forces and with the active support of Section 27, put its case to the Eastern Cape provincial government. We are very remotely located with serious road infrastructure challenges and the provision of this service was not a straightforward exercise. However, the hard work was put in by all stakeholders and after 3 years we were successful! We now have a dedicated, public ambulance service for the Xhora Mouth Administrative Area and its surrounds. A real life-changing (life-saving) event for us all.
