Our Nomakhayas (Home based care) workers received new uniforms this month 🙂 Our Home based care programme has been running since 2011 and it continues to provide excellent care to our community. The Nomkhayas support all households in the community who need assistance. They care for the infirm, elderly, chronically ill, and people living with disabilities. They also provide care for pregnant and lactating mothers to whom they offer guidance and advice for a healthy birth and healthy growth from the first days of life. Our Nomakhayas are also trained in Early Childhood Development (ECD) at Home practices: working with parents and caregivers to ensure cognitive development from the earliest years. This ECD @ Home programme is supplemented with a twice-weekly playgroup gathering that they facilitate with toys, games, dance, singing, nursery rhymes and stories.
