Our excellent home based care team noticed that there were a few children who were not attending preschool at all due to the vastness of Folokwe Village. The distance to Masiphathisane Preschool was just too far for their parents and caregivers to be able to bring them to school. The children continued to attend our playgroup sessions of which there are two locations but were fast outgrowing the age group. We approached the families to discuss the problem and it was decided that a satellite ‘classroom’ of Masiphathisane  Preschool would have to be opened to accommodate these little ones. The Satellite will be managed by the Masiphathisane team who will send an experienced teacher to manage the school while a new teacher is recruited for the main preschool team. The affected families have donated the use of 2 huts that we will renovate and equip to take in the 10 children from 3-5 years.  We expect the school will be ready to open when the upcoming school term starts.
