In our communities, lack of healthcare access includes limited availability to routine eye exams, causing a growing number of children in rural areas, who have vision impairments, to be left untreated.

In order to provide primary eye care to our children, we partnered with Grace Vision to conduct eye exams at our preschools and the Bulungula College. The Grace Vision team checked for vision impairments, and across our schools, they identified seven learners who will need further care and intervention.

Our learners already face many challenges completing school in our rural areas. A child should never be left behind because they are unable to see properly. It is vital to provide them with all the necessary resources and support needed to succeed.
